Can someone from Marvel explain what happened to Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited? What's happened to it is a slap in the face to your paying customers.

I am in absolute need of one of your comic characters - Remy Lebeau aka Gambit, to use i a sci-fi novel that I am working on. He is going to be an integral part of the plot; one of the protagonists of the story. Also, I would try and develop his powers too.
Is there any possible way of using him in my novel?????
