I heard that rumor too. I wasn't super excited about any of those characters for dlc, but I would've bought all of them anyway lol. Too bad that rumor wasn't true. I really hope this rumor is true though. Capcom and Marvel have had plenty of time to decide who they want for dlc, and plenty of time to make any financial plans to actually produce the dlc.
I agree with you: any dlc would be welcome at this point. The characters I listed are some of my top wants, but I will buy any characters/stages/story scenarios/costumes/etc. the devs decide to add. UMvC3 dlc could be a cash-cow for Marvel and Capcom if they would just milk it lol. Capcom milked Street Fighter and a few other games, I just don't know why they won't put more dlc into this game? Oh, and thank you for responding. I think these forums are pretty much dead....
Because even though Capcom may develop the game, it's still under Marvel's license. And they can't go further without getting approval from them first. This makes things more delicate than their own personal games. Street Fighter is their own characters. So they can do whatever they want there. Games like Street Fighter X Tekken is a newer project than MVC3 and likely a newer contract involved, hence why that keeps getting support. Also Namco is a Japanese company, thus easier to contact, not to mention that the producer of Street Fighter 4 and the producer of Tekken are good friends with strong pulls in the companies, so a lot easier to bridge the gap, and have a less strict deal. Where as Marvel is an American company while Capcom is Japanese, so just the actual meetings are more difficult.
