Cast and character wise this makes sense. After Avengers it'd make sense that Cap would be with Shield. One of the things that I found strange about Iron Man 3 is that Tony Stark at one point is reportedly dead, his entire compound was attacked, his friends and loved ones were attacked. He pretty much has his ass handed to him, and yet Shield is absoloutely nowhere. Whereas in Iron Man 2, he's an alcoholic on the verge of self destruction, and this is the kind of behavior that Shield deems worthy to intervene on. Im sure budgetary constraints prevented it from happening, but Shield not appearing in Iron Man 3 makes absoloutely no sense.

Whilst I'm a really big fan of Sam in the comics, I was surprised to learn of his presence in Cap 2 for 2 reasons.

    1. With Bucky's development, + the likely need for a new Sharon + villain, it seemed that these characters + other shield members were the logical character developments.

    2. The Falcon seems a like a character that wouldn't translate that well to the big screen.  Elaborate costume, can fly and talk to birds... has the potential to be pretty cheesy and will need to be written very carefully.

    Will watch this with interest

They are going with the Ultimate version of the Falcon and from the concept art I seen Sam's costume rocks.

If I am right, the main cast will include:
    -Captain America
    -Falcon
    -Nick Fury
    -Maria Hill
    -Black Widow
    -Bucky Barnes (The Winter Soldier)
    -Crossbones

That's quite a lot of main characters for a stand-alone film about Captain America.  I can see Nick, Maria, and Widow being in the movie, as they're all SHIELD agents and Cap is essentially part of SHIELD now.

But having Falcon in it as well?  I hope Falcon doesn't 'steal' the movie and stars in it more importantly than Cap himself.

Also, the Winter Soldier and Crossbones as villains?  How will this work?

I'm just worried.  Cap is my favorite hero and I really want a decent movie about him in modern-day, especially after seeing him in the Avengers.  One problem I had with Avengers was that there were to many characters (which you can't complain about, I know) and Iron Man was the only person to have his 'best part'.

Marvel has a habit of debuting or setting up one new hero a film. Falcon is being set up to maybe join the Avengers down the road.

Didn't the Avengers prove that multiple characters can be in a film and it can still be successful?

Who said all those characters are main characters? They could be very minor characters, it's just that we know they all have very rich storylines. The movie doesn't have to cover Captain America's entire relationship with every one of them.

I'm actually real curious as to how they plan on pulling off The Falcon. You don't want to take the costume straight out of the comics because it would look cheesy, but you don't want to stray too far from it either... hmmmmmmmmmmm

Agreed. Ah, the immortal line from Cyclops to Wolverine in X-Men: "What would you prefer? Yellow spandex?" I'm wondering how they are going to explain his flying ability. You would think that he'd need a length of time to explain how he got that ability. Or, maybe it will work like this:

A SHIELD agent walks up to Steve Rogers beside him is another man.

Agent: "Capt. Rogers, I'd like to introduce you to someone. This is Sam Wilson."
Steve Rogers (smiles and extends his hand to Sam): "Pleased to meet you."
Sam Wilson: "Same here. Wow, Capt. America. Its really you?"
Steve (slightly embarrassed): "Feel free to call me Steve."
Agent: "Capt. Rogers, I think you'd be interested in Mr. Wilson's resume. There's a reason why his codename is 'Falcon'."
    Sam (slightly embarrassed): "Well, uh..."
Steve (looks at Sam and grins): "Oh?"
    Agent: "Sam can fly. Unassisted."
Steve (his eyes grow big and he smiles): "Wow. That's fantastic. How did you manage that, Sam?"
Sam (looks at his feet and grins): "Well, let's just say its a long story and leave it at that."
Steve (nods and smiles): "Okay, we'll leave it at that."

Now, THAT would save a lot of film time.

Oh, and the guy playing Bucky/Winter Soldier is Sebastian Stan, not Sebastian Shaw. Sebastian Shaw is either a supervillain or the actor that originally played Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader with his helmet off in Return of the Jedi

it was a typo, dude..... Stan/Shaw when you're caught in the point you're trying to make, I think it's a pretty fair typo. But Thanks tho

nonetheless this film will be taken away from Cap. lol

    Ares, T'Challa, Namor, Noh-Varr, Skaar
Moonstone, Fantomex, Luke Cage, Wolverine, Hulk

my top 10 FAV Marvel characters gives you a good insight on my character.. minus the fact that my name is Super Villain

    those boy scout heros SUCK
but "Hawkeye" by Matt Frac is thee BEST Marvel book now..
