For the Avengers, there was a deleted scene that I saw on the web where Cap reviews the personel files for the Howling Commandos, Howard Stark and Peggy Carter. He sadly saw the word "Deceased" on all but one of the files (except for Peggy's - she was still alive and in London). I can't remember, but he paused over Bucky's file. Guilt? I'm not sure.

My hope is that they'll incorporate this scene or something similar for Captain America: the Winter Soldier. It could be as a flashback with Steve being talked to by Nick Fury with Nick explaining more in detail about the end of WW2, etc. and Steve asking about his former fellow soldiers. Opportune time for him to explain how he failed to save his friend. I also think it would be great if he could visit London (moving forward to the "present", ie, post Chitauri invasion) and briefly meet with Peggy. (She of course, would know all about his return having watched clips of him on the BBC's coverage of the New York invasion.)

    Greetings all,

Like many here, I am a long time Cap fan that eagerly wand nervously awaited his appearance on the big screen.

Nervous because I was aware with all the risks and obstacles that stood between a movie an enjoyable modern movie and a film that is loyal to the character and does Captain America justice.  The challenges included but weren't limited to a character with an amazing comic costume that may look cartoonish in real life, a super hero without a super power but with a boomerang shield, a character who's personality is described as a good guy (ppl hate that).

Despite thobot challenges, I loved this movie.  It was edgy, funny, respectful, nailed the character good touching.  It was also respectful of the characters history taking into account thato certain elements of the comics have to be changed to integrate the characters into modern society.

One of the biggest rewrites of all... One that I have reflected on repeatedly is the death of Bucky. A major part in the Cap ethos, with his being unable to save Bucky and feeling very guilty re his death. Such a major part of the history for soooo long being part of what made the Winter Soldier storyline so incredible.

I didn't mind it too much at the time but now I wonder. With the Winter Soldier a focus of the second movie, Steve Rodger's guilt not as firmly established as it should be... Especially considering that he wasn't as protective of Bucky as in the comics with JAmes not clearly the smaller, younger, weaker character he appeared for so long.  I thought the death of Bucky in EMH was kind of around the mark they should have gone for.

What do you guys think? Are ppl concerned
