ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN sucks. It's as stupid as the early 2000's TEEN TITANS cartoon. Here's why:

1.The cutaway scenes to Spidey's daydreams are lame and boring.

2.Nova's entire personality is to be a jerk.

3.Mary Jane has become a borderline Mary Sue.

I can't believe this crap is still on while AVENGERS: EARTH'S MIGHTISET HEROES-which was superior-was cancelled. the only thing worst is that GREEN LANTERN and YOUNG JUSTICE are also being cancelled.

Seen episode 4 of season 2, which shows another Spider-Man/ White Tiger team-up, and I have to say it actually quite good as it shows Ava's origin and the two heroes revealing each other's history.

What I also like about this episode is that near the end Spider-Man is shown to have develop a hint of affection for White Tiger and it might develop into her as Spidey's love interest, which I'm hoping, although White Tiger herself won't know it and would just remain friends

I've just recently seen the commercial for Ultimate Spider-Man Season 2 on Disney XD. In it, I saw the Ultimate Rhino. Now, is it just me, or does he look a little freakier than Ultimate Hulk?

Batman is a Pessimist?! WHAT?!! Batman is a REALIST and so is Spider-man. And being an optomist doesnt not mean that you aren't aware that we live in a troublesome world where bad things happen. Being an optomist means having a positive outlook, Always looking for the bes in a bad situation and being thankful for the least bit of good despite all the trouble that can and most certainly will come our way.

Superheroes not only deal with tough problems like supervillians but as well as their own inner battles that relate to the super-heroing that they do.

What are you talkin aboot?  with the exception of the first episode (which was ruined due to the constant breaking of the 4th wall) the show has been a pleasant, even grateful surprise.  The episodes are fun, funny, and original while still being based on classic comics.  Everything from Spider-Ham to Thor-Frog to the shaky-cam/Hulk episode to the Wolverine/Spidey bodyswitch (which is my surprise fav as Im normally very anti Logan).  Just continually bringing forth enjoyable episodes for a kids show that doesn't take itself too seriously (which is shouldn't as spidey never does in his books).  Hell, even the comical spiderman/nova rivalry is thuroughly enjoyable. Quite frankly, this is the best spiderman show I've ever seen, I love it!!

Nothing but praise for this show that I've seen so far *save that first premiere episode.

We have a Spider-Man that sings, we have 4th wall moment which only Deadpool would do, we have not seen much of Spidey in his sciency moment, and we have that seems unnessessary.

While I admit I do like most of the episode, especiall the Spidey/Wolvy body switch, and the Spider-Ham, and an episde with Spidey and White Tiger, I still think more could have been done

well Im not saying the show is perfect, no show is ever "perfect"  it's still the best spidey show to date.  As for the breaking of the 4th wall, I don't mind it being in the show at all.  It's a kids show, its not meant to be taken seriously.  My conplaint with the first episode's breaking the 4th wall was that they did it non-stop, there was more 4th wall breaking than there was story in that episode.  Since then, however, they've toned it down considerably to where it doesn't feel so forced and unnessesary.

I mean lets be honest here, this show will NEVER meet most comic fans highest expectation simply due to the fact that its an all ages show.  Disney/marvel will not be making an adult spidey show, as the general consensus is that comics are for kids, even though the majority of actual comics have primarily adult content.  Its a stereotype to be sure but thats just the way it is.

The argument "It's a kids show." doesn't really work. Spectacular Spider-man, 90s Spider-man, Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Batman The Animated Series and plenty of others were kids shows as well. Yet they also catered towards adults as well. I don't think anyone is asking for an adult Spider-man cartoon. It's just as Spectacular pretty much set the bar on how a Spider-man show should be written. Yes, Spider-man is known for being a jokester, but there have been plenty of times in the comics where things got pretty serious.

I myself don't hate the show, but the criticism Ultimate gets is well-deserved. I had more hope for it when I found out one of the writers of Batman The Animated Series would be involved.

Not to disregard the rest of you post but are you seriously saying that the 90's spiderman show was good in any way?!  It was just plain awful, the animation/character designs were horrid, the voice-acting atrocious, action virtually non-existant it was just spidey dodging stuff (no actual physical contact EVER), and OMG is it possible to make spiderman seem like a bigger p*ssy (Tobey Mcquire's cryfest as Parker is pretty close I'll admit but still).  If I could go back in time and assassinate the "creative" team behind that crapfest, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Now as for shows like Batman TSA, the simple fact is that bats is a dark brooding character, spidey is not, never has been.  You can't compare two characters that are polar opposites in theme and tone and say one is better because it's more serious as the other character has never been about dark/brooding activies even in his "darkest" moments.  Spidey is and has been a continually upbeat optimist, while Batman is the quintessential pessimest

The problem is that no Spider-man cartoon beforehand has ever been exclusively just for kids. The comics that these characters originate from are not for kids, I mean kids can still read them but the fact that a cartoon based on these characters is on such a childish level is the problem. Spectacular for instance had a perfect mix of humor, drama, and action. It covered mature themes like Harry's drug addiction, had Aunt May getting a heart attack, and portrayed Norman as an abusive father.

And 90s Spider-man did have some good quality episodes. Especially within the first three seasons. And some of the voice acting was actually good. Particularly the voices of JJJ, Felicia Hardy/Black Cat, Hobgoblin, Kingpin, and Venom. CDB made a good sarcastic Spidey, but I thought he often overacted in the more dramatic scenes. And I hated Green Goblin's voice. It sounded like he ingested helium. I'll give you the animation and fight sequences being pretty lacking. Those are flaws I have with the show myself.

The animation in the first season started off good, but as the show progressed it got poor and outright sloppy at times. Heavy overuse of stock footage which become so obvious that it's cringe worthy sometimes. Especially when you see Spidey or other characters in environments that look nothing like the setting they were just in. And due to censorship, the fight sequences mostly consisted of just grappling, throwing, people ramming each other, bear hugs, and light kicks that only lasted for about a minute. It also made Spidey weak when it come to actually taking a hit.

Interesting thing is, a lot of the people who claim the 90s Spider-man is the "best thing ever" ignore those flaws and also sneer at Spectacular just simply because of it's art style and not it's story aspects. And it also don't seem to know the difference between animation and art style. It shows that these people aren't very good critics. They don't understand that while the 90s show had more detailed art, it came at a price, poor animation and use of stock footage. And that Spectacular's more simple art allowed for more fast and fluid animation and also allowed Spidey's agility to be shown better.

Seen episode 25 and 26, and I have to say that dispite some flaws its actually good. Also I like the new look on Norman Osborn, bearing apperance of the Ultimate version of the Green Goblin and equipment of the 616 version with armor. The plot in this also been taken from the Ultimate comics series, namely how Peter got his powers

While I like the fights in this I feel like there are parts and moments that are unnessessary, namely in episode 25. Spidey could easily take on Goblin without his team making an apperance to try and save him as it has shows, plus there have been alittle bit more 4th wall moments.

Episode 26 is no different as there are some parts that are in questions, llike how did Harry still manage to have the symbiote, and why the symbiote is still there were Osborn took a portion of it while the rest still remains on the Helicarrier because there is a risk of that coming to land and possessing Peter. Also some editing and sound works that have not been thought through.

But overall the episode is quite good, and it looks like Pete's home will be like his own Avenger's Mansion, an element taken from the comics.
