I remember Mr X running through Asgardians like they were nothing much like everybody under Osborn's command. Ah yes, classic Bendis shenanigans
If Siege was actually a valid story and not Bendis BS feats and inconsistencies, every dark avenger or thunderbolt fighting against asgardian warriors in their home would have been dead. Save for Sentry, Ares, Moonstone (due to her powers), and venom, the other peak human or barely super human turds that he used for his meaningless battle would all be dead. The fact that Mr.X, scourge, paladin and others survived along with daken, bullseye and the taskmaster just shows that he had no idea how to showcase a massive scale battle. Maybe the hood's norn stones given to him by loki was a shield to protect them, but daken, bullseye, Hood, taskmaster, mr.X, scourge, grizzly and any other low level assassin who had no business fighting asgardians should have been sliced in two, quartered and/or decapitated.. There is the PIS. Ares, sentry, iron patriot, venom and moonstone are the only ones who can withstand asgardian weapons (excluding Thor, Balder's sword, Valkyrie's sword, Heimdall). Siege was lame.

The idea of a character who is invulnerable except for one thing is not new. Achilies had it. Invulnerable except for his heel, where his mom held him when she dipped him in a river to make him invulnerable. Seigfried, invulnerable , except for in the back. You could even argue Superman too, invulnerable except for kryptonite. Balder is invulnerable except for misseltow.

Rough house was listed at 70 tons I believe. The strength level of the average Asgardian troll. He is approximately twice as strong as Balder. Rough House is a C List character, but so is Balder.

Hasnt Wolverine found a match in a regular Asgardian called Roughouse? Balder is miles above that dude.
Rough House is stronger than Balder I think, and has troll blood making him more durable than a normal Asgardian.
Roughouse is like a 30-tonner at best. Balder is in the 50-60 ton range and is way more diverse in powerset. He would kill Roughouse easily.

I don't find his invincibility silly. I find its silly to be making an argument for something that seems no longer to apply. If he still showed this ability, then is have no problem with it.
I'll agree...his inviciblity is at the very least poorly define or inconsistant in Marvel comics.

@Bonesbar What sense does that make? Is that just another way for you to bring down Wolverine as usual. 1-Wolverine can be cut and maimed, we've seen it on panel way too many times. He'd eventually heal. 2- how many times have we seen Balder show complete disregard for defending himself seeing that he can't be harmed? This is why I said you're argument is irrelevant. Wolverine can still be harmed and we know this, we constantly see it. How often do we see this supposed invincibility from Balder? If it was still part of his character, we'll see it more more often.
Honestly I just find this thread is a bit ironic. Wolverine's bones durablity combined with his healing get this arguement that so many people can't put him down, that he'll just heal and keep coming. I'm not putting Wolverine down, but you seem to think Balder's invulnerablity is silly. This was/is part of some people's religion! It's who he is. It's no more rediculous than Wolverine's healing. Or Thor flying by being pulled by a hammer. Or Superman mostly only being harmed by green rocks. You just don't like Balder having this power. You don't like me saying that Balder can pin Wolverine under weight to win. Instead of counter this stuff, you just say how you think it's silly. Really, a lot of Wolverine's feats make no sense too(where does he get the matter sometimes when he heals?). Balder at least has the excuse of being magic and a god.
As for Balder showing this ablity more. I've said from the begining that I'm not clear what the complete deal is with his durablity. If it's something writers ignore or have removed from him. If it has limitations beyond mistletoe. Like only working in Asgard. Odin only knows! Thor comics are notoriously inconsistant. I have seen him hurt during Walter Simson's run but I've found comics that have shown him to have it in the Marvel Universe. Perhaps some people have a different take on it? I really don't think he needs it to win, but with it he would own Wolverine.

ONly idiots care about Roghhouse, Mr.X or Romulus. Period. Balder would kill all three of these with ease. No problem. Not saying he beats wolverine more often than not, but he destroys those three tools.
