Filling the gaps is going to get even harder now that they appear to have reduced the number of comics they are releasing.

I would like to get some explanation from Marvel as to why we aren't getting 25 new comics a week any more.

i do agree that there are alot of gaps. but at the same time im just happy the database exists and hope it keeps expanding but with less and less volume on updates i do agree that it raises that question are they slowing down do to non funds. unless i was on marvel.com i would have never know about MDCU, so I really do  believe that they should advertise in someway about mcdu whether its on the web,tv,comics or something else. while they may worry that this would lessen comic sales operative thing to do would be not putting anything newer then a year on so to generate sales and if worried the comic shops will be angry dont because they are just like us the fact they may read into a data base they may already have but dont wish to harm the old physical comic its self. collectors will still collect im not a collecter yet i do have alot that i would not give up and when i see ones i love on the shelves i buy it. so please marvel continue with the updates

Just thought I'd update this. I might be jumping the gun here, but this months updates, not only don't appear to include anything from before 2011, but only contains 54 issues, when 100 is nearer the monthly figure.

In my opinion there are still too many gaps in the database for updates like this.

I'm guessing those of us who prefer the older content are in the minority, but now that the number of updates appear to be dropping as well.. Should we be worried about the future of the database?

I've posted a couple of times in support of this. There are many, many gaps that I'd also like to see filled.

I'm glad to see that we are at least getting a 50/50 spread between eras in the last few updates, but I'd really like to ask again for the Defenders (1970's) and Nova (1970's) as both of these are very poorly represented and a personal favourite of mine. (I hope I'm not alone.).

So, please, please, more older content and more of the gaps filled.

    Thanks.

    Marvel is looking for writers.

Maybe if a series that includes The Black Panther is expanded on in digital that all the writing will help with partials.

I've been an on and off subsciber to MDCU for while now, and for the most part I love the service warts and all. But the one thing I find hoplessly frustrating are the instances where only one part of an anthology or split book are present. Leaving out reprint material is understandable. Leaving out the backups in the anthology books is dissapointing but not surprising given their mostly non-continuity status and the fact that they've mostly never been reprinted, I would in fact really love to be able to read these though.

But leaving out actual in-continuity stories starring major characters isn't understandable in any way. Admittedly the service has gotten better about this, the missing Human Torch and Doctor Strange stories in Strange Tales have been added as well as the entire Nick Fury run in the same book. Of the notable gaps left are the Giant Man tales in TTA 60-69 and the Immortals tales in Thor 146-152 and the Tales of the Watcher backup in Tales of Suspense 49-58.

I find these odd gaps both misleading and frustrating. When I see that an issue is on the service I generally assume that it contains all of the notable material within that issue and plan my reading orders accordingly.
