Spambots are flairing up again. I'm flagging them, but they're remaining in the forums:

fans.marvel.com/stevescott - this one's post is just a few below this one

    fans.marvel.com/kalababu99 - two posts

    That's hilarious.
A thread about spambots gets hit by a spambot that complains about those that complain about spambots.

Nice post!Ticketmaster, our planet's biggest online ticket retailer, has grown smart. Instead of continuing to bother customers by requiring them to enter nearly illegible nonsense terms in order to prove they're human instead of a spamming robot, Ticketmaster will quickly stop using the Captcha system used by many online retailers. Instead, it will go with New York start-up Solve Media's advertising-based program that deals with more natural speech. Source for this article: Financial Advice

I help with moderation and check in ever so often.  So not exactly new.

I don't think the flagging has been fixed.

There will be more. There are still numerous glitches on this forum. Posts get deleted mysteriously.

Hmmmm. According to Marvelous Jenny, the flags are being seen by mods.

    Here's a few suggestions:

    1. Regarding flagging. Copy the address for the post, thread or username that is in violation of the board rules. Flag the post, thread or username then PM Marvelous Jenny and paste the address, while letting her know that you flagged it. She'll let you know if it showed up.

    2. Regarding missing posts. Important question: were they violating the rules of the board? If it is, a mod might be deleting them. If not, here's my thoughts:

Try creating a log of your posts on Word or Excel. (Sorry if this is tedious.)
    a. Type out your post either on Marvel.com or on the secondary program. Make sure you have a copy of it.
    b. Remember to save the file.
    c. Post the comment you made. Copy the address and paste it beneath the pasted post on your log file, along with the date, time (and time zone).
    d. Be sure the post is there. Immediately after posting, go to another thread and then immediately go back to be sure it showed up.
    e. If it disappeared, try letting Marvelous Jenny know about it.

In the meantime, I'm going to check on a particular spambot I flagged to see whether or not its gone.

Okay. Thanks for letting me know. Is Marvelous Jenny new on the forum?

Thanks for your help, Marvelous Jenny!

For now, I'm not going to take the time to log any spambots/spammers on this thread but flag them instead. (Did that rhyme?) I'll continue to monitor the latest spambots/spammers I've identified to be sure they're nixed. There's about 3 or 4 of them since the last ones I've posted here.

Yep, received the flagged email of the user and deleted them from the system.  As for disappearing post. This is the first I heard of.  Do create a new thread with your information and we will do our best to report it and figure it out.  There is a possible chance that a moderator did delete it from the forums though if it went against rules.

I just checked and the spambot's username I flagged is no longer active. I believe that the flagging is, as was told us, working!

Okay, the spambot I had flagged has been deleted, but I also specifically alerted the mods. So I flagged another active spambot with a spam thread that still exists. I've noted the address. If its gone within 24 hours, we'll know the flagging is working.

If you've identified a spambot, feel free to post the spambot's address here (as well as flagging it). That way we can keep our eyes on it. If its a legitimate poster that may or may not be following the board's rules, please don't post them here. This thread is for spambots (and users that may only be on the boards for spamming).
