Looks like they've changed their mind, and the FAQ is no longer correct. I got this response today from "Marvel Customer Care" (onlinesupport@marvel.com):

MDCU subscriptions are not accessible on mobile devices.  There are no plans to integrate the subscription with the app.

I'm cancelling my Unlimited subscription now, if it's never going to work on the iPad. No idea why they're drawing a distinction between "mobile devices" and desktop computers. Incredibly short-sighted.

That's what you'd assume, but it doesn't appear to work that way -- if you pay for the "Unlimited" subscription, it doesn't give you access on the iPad (because, somebody decided that an iPad isn't a "computer", I guess). Really disappointing.

It looks like Marvel doesn't actually run the Marvel iPad app -- "Comixology" does, and they don't appear to care if you're a Marvel customer or not, and they blow off all contact about this through the app. As a Marvel customer, using the Marvel app, it's a pretty bizarre customer experience to get responses through that app from a different company, that basically boil down to "not our problem, pls go away".

So, yeah, your $60 will be wasted if you think you can use your subscription on your iPad.

does it just mean if i subscribe and pay the annual fee i dont have to pay for them 1 by 1 anymore?

is says on the page i can read as many as i want, does it still mean we get to download them to our collection or do we just get to read them from the digital store?

Tried to use photon... It's like a virtual desktop browser with flash. Not near as cool as the app. But I'm not dropping 2 bones per issue. Please if the app so it will work wih the subscription!!! Anything else is a waste of time!!!

If you install Photon Web Browser from the App Store, you can view your digital comics on your iPad or iPhone. It is a Flash web browser. Works very well. I haven't subscribed to the digital comics yet, but it worked well for the digital comics previews. I just changed the setting to single page viewing and I could scroll easily with my finger using the fist shaped icon on the Photon Web Browser.
