It's about as logical as not holding Tony Stark accoutnable in the first place for screwing up the inital attempt to capture the Phoniex. He told everyone he could handle the job and do it right. Once that was not the case all of sudden it's only Cyclops fault. I acutally hold Tony Stark more accountable than Cyclops. While some of Cyclops actions were his own and some by the Phoniex Tony Stark imo started the whole mess in the first place. One thing people forget though from the start anyone who can't handle the Phoniex gets corrupted and acts out of character. what Tony excuse for screwing up. I like the Avengers yet like other super teams they sometimes create more problems than they solve. I'm glad we are finally seeing someone actually point out that they never really take any responsability for what they do.

Just like Tony Stark was held accountable for bringing the Phoneix Force to Earth in the first place and losing control of it. Just like the Hulk who tortured and forced some of his own teammates to fight against each other in gladitorial style fights. As well Hulk as almost destroying the planet. Yeah you want the Avengers to hold Cyclops accountable maybe they should account for some of the problems they create. At least Cyclps can blame the Phonix force for some of his behavior since it's too much for anyone even 5 people to actually control. Whats tony Stark excuse "oops". Sorry if anybody is being portrayed as hypocrites it's the Avengers. At least some of the X-men can't stand what Cyclops did Xavier and the character. Tony was accused of Cyclops of bungling the capture attempt of the Phoneix and he acted like he did nothing wrong. So while I like the Avengers no way no ho are you or anyone else going to tell me that the Avengers don't shre some of the blame.

Really? Really? My problem with Hawkeye and the rest of the Avengers is they don't really get the fact that the Government is most times the ones behind the oppression and murder of mutants. This is the biggest conflict of interest i see with the whole Uncanny Avengers team is they work for the same people that are probably making the sentinels. It weird but after AVX the divide between Xbooks and Avengers books feel even bigger for me. In alot of the X books the Avengers feel like government storm troopers who have no idea what the X-Men have been fighting for and in Avengers Books mutant problem don't even exist.

No kidding considering the government has turned on the Avengers and even Cap too many times to count in the recent past.  Marvel IS NOT DC the government and average Joe does not like super powered beings. PERIOD. The whole Dell Rusk thing..Peter Gyrich liason...ect.. however the Government has worked with mutants in the past with Freedom Force and later X-Factor..so that is why Havok makes perfect sense to be on the Uncanny Avengers

As usual the Avengers all collectively swallowed amnesisa and lack of responsability medication lol. Are they Avengers seriously trying to pin the events of AVX completely on the X-men and by extension Cyclops and crew. Really. I now see what some fans mean that the Marvel writers give a free pass to anything and everything the Avengers do. Just for being the Avengers. Not to mention I thought post AVX the Avengers were more aware of how bad things are for mutants in sociaty. Are they still acting like nothing is happening towards mutants. I'm not saying the X-men were not responsable for what happened in AVX. Yet the Avengers come off as douchebags trying to pass the blame of what happned during AVX squarely on the shoulders of the X-men.

Very well said Th-1. I agree with your latest post completely. Cyclops loses his mind once he desrves to get the entire or almost the entire Avengers roster to go capture him. Yet the Hulk that almost shttered the wordl gets a free pass because of his popularity. Yeah that seems fair to me.

Popularity plays a huge part in characters like Hulk and Wolverine. One has torn down whole cities and spent an equal amount of time fighting Heroes as he did villains and Wolverine is just a brutal mass murderer and has been for decades yet because they are popular this never brought up. Cap initially didn't want Wolverine because of who he is to join his team and Iron Man talked him into it. I don't see why any of the Avengers would want to team with Hulk i don't see that at all. Not one person looked at Cap and said are you f'n High? The Hulk again? But Cyclops loses his mind one time and he's the new Doctor Doom

Good point about the Hulk. Of all the Avengers on the scene the last person to be sent to arrest let alone have any moral high ground to question or say anything to Cyclops about his action in AVX. The character was ready to destroy the world. Also agree about the way the Avengers are written. It's like the characters go through a whole bunch of events yet act like nothing happens. Cyclops is the bad guy no matter what. The Avegers are responsbile for nothing of what happened during AVX. The Hulk well he gets a free pass on what he did because well because dammit.

I sometimes wonder if writers do research on characters they want to use in a storyline. I'm getting the impression some are not. Take the last few issues of X-force before the reboot. Mystqiue is in the same group with the Shadow King even though he murdered Destiny. Mystque love of her life. Yet the writer portrays the character as having no problems with Mystqiue working with SK. After all Revenge is a stronger motive trhan love. We get a scene wqhere Mystique says she is going to make the SK pay for what he did. Yet the character never did. The writer wanted to use both characters. Could not be bothered to read up on what happned before using them. Than had fans asking why both characters would want to be on the same team

I don't dislike Hawkeye as a character. Just tired of otehr non-mutant characters doing two things. One acting like mutants are still not getting the short end of the stick. Only so many times on can read "really mutants are persecuted who knew" from other non-mutant characters in the MU. Anyone who still things that way is written as having been stuck in a cava somehwere for the last 10-20 years. That and characters who keep going "let me at him I can take him." It's interesting to read at first. Eventully one just wants Cyclops to blast Hawkete through the nearest building with a optic blast.

Agreed about there being too many Avengers sent to do the arrest. One could understand if the P5 were still around. Almost the entire roster if not the entire roster. What the rest of the world does not need help. Still Cyclops owned the Avengers and rightdully so for their attempt at trying to place the blame squarelly on the shoulders of Scott and ny extension the X-men. Just came across as  excuse to put them all in the comic as a marketing ploy to get fans to vuy more issues.
