I always hated Summers, until he took over, not my favorite Character but at least now he is worth the papper he is drawn on. Regarding this last cross over, when it is all said and done, facts are he was RIGHT, and as far as i have read, nobody has admited to that.

I think the character was taken in a good direction, he was always the tactics guys for the xmen, which by definition makes him a realist, he is xvier in that he really wants the best for mutants and he is magneto in that he is not afraid to get his hands dirty. Again a realist.

Lost my number but still against "that which we dont speak of".

I believe the word your looking for is justification, and yes he is justified, you're right.

The beauty of X-men was that here these normal looking humans had these special powers. (other than blue beast, and Night Crawler). There are too many now that look like aliens, they just don't seem like X-Men as much as just bad creations.

I would read a reboot, and I hope that All-New X-men starts that. I miss good ol' x-men and brotherhood beat downs, and cyclops not being the biggest douche in all of superdom.

    Anyone else agree?

I'll never understand why people call cyclops a douche, he doesnt go around trying to take other teammates wives/girlfriends (wolverine/namor), doesn't tell people to let kids be kids and then try to kill a 16-yo girl (again wolverine), doesn't go around badmouthing one character for doing something then let everyone do it w/o complaint (beast).

No, alls he does is lead a new species that has to face fear, hatred and potential mass murder lurking around every corner while promoting peaceful co-existence.  He's lost his wife (twice), had to give up his child (to save the baby from a virus with no known cure in modern times) and had to put up with all the BS from his teammates that I mentioned earlier in my post.  Now please, highlight which part of what he's done/doing that qualifies him as a "douche" I'm all ears.

Hahaha, okay, here's just a FEW reasons that Scott Summers is a douche:

    1. He wears sunglasses at night

    - ...facepalm

    2. He ditches his wife and kid for his "true love"

    - I'll give ya this one, but then again bad writing is bad writing

    3. He ditches his "true love" for a blonde dominatrix

    - you mean the redhead who whored herself out to his hairy midget teammate?  meh, seems fair

    4. He manages to get more mutants killed under his watch than any other X-Man

    5. Places kids in compromising situations

    - you mean like training a bunch of teenagers who've been constantly attacked just for living so they had a fighting chance?  Yknow the same thing his mentor did to him and many MANY others and no one complained about it?

    6. He beats his woman

    - I guess a PF host counts as a woman, but that didnt stop Iron Man or Thor from trying to smack the same woman around either now did it?

    7. Murders his father figuire in a tantrum

-it's spelled "figure" just fyi.  And that was Xavier intentionally calling out a dark pheonix, he knew what would happen.  Then again if the Avengers wouldnt have prodded the proverbial bull with a stick about a hundred times he wouldnt have gotten made nor had the full PF to begin with.

    8. Believes that all of the above was "for the greater good."

-So, mutants shouldnt have come back? ok gotcha.

    ....what a douche.

I don't think a reboot but they need like a good long story arc where they just address issues n fix/explain/retcon alot of the bs floating around. Then divide the members up into team books n develop develop develop.

Even though I want better changes for the X-Men Universe, I don't think I would want a reboot because that would mean that great stories like the Dark Phoenix Saga and Joss Whedon's run on Astonishing X-Men would have to be erased to make room for new versions on of the characters.
