I can understand the want for more self contained books, but I have to say, I really liked AvX, and am enthralled by the new Marvel Now books. (Civil War, House of M, Annihilation, Siege, Secret Invasion, etc, all have been top notch stuff IMO)

I personally cannot wait to see what happens with the Xmen and GoTG and the hotness that is the new Thunderbolts.

    I also liked Spidey #700......

People ask Marvel to go in a new direction, and they do, then people complain they want everything to go back to how it was......

I think people complain about how things should go back the way they were because in my honest opinion, I thought that Marvel was forcing too many events to happen lately to get to this point and I think that's what's really upsetting the fans.  Also, the newer stories rarely referenced the older stories that could help give us a more broader view on the characters and their situations.

Other charactrs that were great could make marvel more of what it was are Ahab who chased Phoenix across the Universe a pivotal player. The lesson to keep here is haveing characters gone for a while so that marvel will have a was is a good idea. Marvel should remember to remove others for extended periods so the was will always be greater on the return. Using ideas like that on the present marvel age to make the characters notes they record to themselves important will work. Future notions like the alternate realities marvel events make good sense.

I agree that using memorable characters could help out Marvel right now.  There were many characters in the past that were memorable and Marvel should bring some of them back.

2: More minis of individual characters.  A Storm mini, a Thing mini, (for me) a Cyclops mini.  And by mini, I mean a REAL comic mini, not this philosophical/inner termoil stuff.  I mean a character than doesnt normally get his own book where he/she/it goes on a true adventure and kicks ass/takes names. Take "Magneto: Not a Hero" for example, THAT is how you do a real mini.

3: No more oversaturation of certain characters.  Wolverine and spiderman are EVERYWHERE, and at times Deadpool.  They both have atleast 2 solo titles going at all times, plus they're on team books, also they get highlighted in event books where they really shouldnt.  Its just too much, so many writers pulling the same character in so many directions just kills the character and what he or she stands for. Ive never liked wolverine, but back in the day, you could atleast count on him sticking to his guns, nowadays he'll have twelve different opinions on the same subject, its rediculous.

My sentiments exactly Seaturkey. I only buy 4 monthly Marvel titles now. I'm really fatigued by the oversaturation of superheroes' membership in more than one team and of heroes fighting heroes, the most recent example being the AVX debacle.

Marvel need to rediscover great individual story-arcs without all the bland soap operatic crossovers.

I agree with this.  I'm starting to get a bit tired with the soap opera styled crossovers and I would like Marvel to just write stories that actually explores the characters instead of constantly putting them in forced situations where they have to fight other heroes.

I definitely agree with everything you said, especially needing more self contained books and not oversatuating the characters.  I think too many characters are getting ruined lately because they are everywhere and there are too many different writers having different opinions on how the characters should act.  Also, it would be great to have various characters get their own series for awhile so that way their characters would be able to develop.
