Finally read it... Was holding off because I was a bit sad to see Brubaker leave his baby... But, Remender is one of my other favorites and I am sure he will do the book justice. Back before I collected Captain America (around the House of M days but maybe even closer to Civil War) I always told myself I would not get involved because I figured the book was a bit cliche.. Not creative enough. As much as it sucks to have not been with Brubaker since the beginning, it has been such a joy reading this title.

Sure, as mentioned, there was very little to no face punching but what this book did do was tie in a whole lot of what we read into a nice, clean finale. I am actually surprised how emotional the story was.. Was this the first time William Burnside was mentioned or is he a known 1950's Captain America?

This has got to be the glitchiest board on the internet.

Hereis my suggestion to any one who might care:

A super soldier Dirty dozen with William Burnside as Nomad, Captain Midalnds, Isaiah Bradley or Elijah Bradley or one of the other Bradley Clan, as well as a Man Moutain Marko or two thrown in for good measure.   Sent out on the missions that no one expects them to ever come back from.

I would love to see that.

here is my suggestion to anyone who might be give a care.

A super soldire dirty dozen, with William Burnside as Nomad, Captain Midlands, Isahiah Bradley, and any number of other failed super soldiers from the MU (a couple Red Guardians, a Man Mountain Marko or Two) sent into the places no one expects you to come back form.  Saving the world, at the cost of whatever they have left to offer.

Got to agree with Fredll, this issue was awesome, the plot and ending left it open for continuation which is always a good idea, I always like face punching too and hey sure it could of used a little more but what issue's couldn't?  Not too sure about Brubaker, I someone think we've not seen the last of him hence to open ending.

A CA fan from way back!

Come on, this was a great issue!

It had pathos, it had a resolution to plot line that I was quite interested in myself, as well as an open possibility for the future.

Sure not a lot of face punching, but not every issue needs to be face punching.

It was a great end to Brubaker's run, and I thouhg an excellent cap to the stories he tried to tell.

Anyway, I really like it, but that's just me.
