Oh yeah, I too think his comments were silly.  Like the Thor movie, Panther's movie doesn't have to only center in Africa.  The thing that makes Panther so appealing , especially given his Avengers an FF adventures, is that he's an international and intergalactic hero.  Why is Marvel cutting themselves short with a plot to keep the movies' setting in one country???  Very disappointing, indeed!

Xavier: It would have to be unanimous.
    Mr. Fantastic: Those in favor?
    Iron Man: T'Challa...
Panther: I'm telling you now: End this. Walk away from this table and go home.

Does anybody else find dat weird?

We/SZ aint trashing a GotG movie, dats all  well & gd but we/SZ only mention it in reltion 2 D'Espositi's B.S statement.

Coming frm d SDCC'12 dis is wat Marvel's co-president LOUIS D'ESPOSITO had 2 say abt a BP movie...

    geek-news.mtv.com/2012/07/18/...black-pa...

"It can always be an Iron Man, Thor, and Cap movie, it has to grow from there," said D'Esposito, also expressing interest in Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, and more... Though he did say at least one thing that caused quite a bit of controversy: "He has a lot of the same characteristics of a Captain America: great character, good values. But it's a little more difficult, maybe, creating [a world like Wakanda]. It's always easier basing it here. For instance, 'Iron Man 3' is rooted right here in Los Angeles and New York. When you bring in other worlds, you're always faced with those difficulties."

Wat a hot-load of bullcrap...clearly d most stupendous excuse we/SZ hv evr heard...will dey say d same thing with an Ironfist movie regarding Kun Lun?

Hw **** der wasnt any "those difficulties" in mking THOR movie?

Hek if Stan "The Man" Lee has openly advocated & very much anticipates a BP movie across cyberspace & in various interviews. It will b very interesting 2 get his response 2 D'Esposito's statement.

Talk abt cataloguing d entire American populace as covert racists.

Just let George Lucas hv a shot @ it.

Pls reply & discussion...we/SZ will very much like 2 hear ur opinions on dis.

I'm Glad I am not the only one feeling this way, maybe with marvel NOW! he will get a title. I guess I will just have to face the fact the the higher ups at marvel just don't blieve that they can do anyhtin, they are going to put out what makes the most money

Just got the news that Marvel has set in stone Gardians of the Galaxy as the previously unknown 2nd film for 2014.  Test footage for Ant Man was also revealed.  So I guess  no Panther anytime soon, unless we get another animated "movie" through Pixar.

Uhm.... I'm sorry but I love the Marvel entity as whole, but I'm so totally considering my official boycott.  I've dumped TONS of my hard earned cash into Marvel's wallets for years and have been a loyal supporter during the tough times.  But when I continue to see solo books pop up (Hawkeye, Gambit, RED SHE HULK, really???), more X-men & Wolverine books and more Avengers books with no news of Panther being in neither of or having a solo, it raises my indifference a bit.

But oh well, I'm just ONE consumer; my contribution to their million dollor gain won't be missed I'm sure.
