    WORD!

I think that his smarts, humility and ability to lead should play a greater part of his tale.

Stripping him of his abilities... kinda' boring. Not that he should keep 'em because I would like to see him punch bad folk in the mush better,

just feels like a cop-out. And not to bludgeon the point but losing his powers doesn't mean losing his memory, or his muscle memory ( Ya' know like riding a bike) . And returning to the States is well...ok I guess. But, not extremely interesting.

Couldn't he just walk the Earth barefoot like Caine ( from Kung-Fu ) . Or journey through his homeland, on a quest of self discovery. Utilize his other skill sets as a HERO helping people in war torn parts of the country that have not prospered as Wakanda. Maybe taking out poachers hunting endangered species.

    Is that to idealistic...

    Sounds like the Black Panther.

And quite frankly, as I mentioned before, I'd rather he not be connected to Bast nor any other diety for that matter.  He's a phyisics major; I liked it better when the writers focused on him being an equal peer to Tony Stark and his inventive prowess rather than being a peer to heroes like Iron Fist and Moon Knight and their connection to spirit beings.

I know it can be done because I noticed how writers portrayed Panther in the past 3 animated titles he was featured in:  Ultimate Avengers 2, Marvel Knights Black Panther, and The Avenger-EMH.  I don't recall Bast ever being mentioned in either animation.

I'm just saying that I hope that once writers begin writing  Panther as a major power again, he gets back to his tech roots rather than his Bast ones.

    Iron Man: But......it is...
Xavier: It would have to be unanimous.
    Mr. Fantastic: Those in favor?
    Iron Man: T'Challa...
Panther: I'm telling you now: End this. Walk away from this table and go home.
    Iron Man: Wow, T'Challa--

Thats a little more clear, refering to the GODS. But, for the historical sake of the character and continuity it seems just

a bit off.   I can understand stripping him of his title. But, stripping him of his Heart Shape Plant Given Powers

    sounds like a creative excuse...

Or if the writers and editors need script supervisors I know some people.

When Shuri became the Black Panther, didn't the panther powers get transferred to her by the Panther God?

Yeah it's true.  He "lost" his powers.  However, I'm not quite sure if it was ever fully explained how the heart-shaped herb's affect wore off all of a sudden.

I read not long ago that recently the Panther lost his powers.

    Is that correct?

    SPOILER ALERT******

I was pretty sure, after reading #521, that American Panther was the random police officer that attempted to escort the Hate Monger from a street corner.

Kasper Cole? Really? I've yet to read 521 (arrived today, actually), so I find that suggestion mighty strange. My knowledge on that character is limited, I admit.

I will admit, however, I have actually had nightmares that played out almost exactly like the American Panther's debut.  Don't get me wrong I'm still interested to see how this story plays out, and im truley curious to see the identity of the American Panther. I have my guess but i don't want to say it out loud...here's a hint his initials ar KC.

Well, when you put it that way, it is pretty hilarious isn't it?  But, it is an issue specific to his particular situation.  It should be entertaining  to see how he overcomes.
