Show Notes: The Watcher, Episode 1

December 3, 2010 | 5:48 PM | By Agent_M | In General

For each episode of The Watcher, I want to provide links, behind-the-scenes info and other fun tidbits. Thankfully, I have host Grace Randolph to help me put this together and we'll try to get this to you guys every week.

First, the video in case you haven't seen it yet:

-When Grace takes a Dr. Pepper break, she's joined by video editors Jason Harvey and Ramon Olivo. The comics they're reading are Jason's and he sacrificed them...for you!

-Marvel.com Assistant Editor (and former guest host of the Weekly Watcher) made a cameo during the Create Your Own Super Hero segment. Here's the hero Grace created--Grace Under Fire:

-Here's what Grace has to say about this episode:

"As some of you may know, Marvel recently moved to new offices.
Obviously with such a big company it's been a big undertaking and, since Marvel Digital was one of the first groups to relocate, I've gotten to see the move in stages over the last few weeks.  Well last Tuesday when I came in to shoot The Watcher, I was waiting in reception (all guests need to be escorted through the office, security is tight!) they were finally putting up the last decorating touches.
And at that moment they were in the process of hanging up the movie posters of Marvel's biggest hits on the wall near reception.  It was inspiring to watch those movie posters go up, as it symbolizes how far Marvel has come.  Today, we can enjoy our favorite Marvel characters not just on the page, but on the small screen, the digital screen (The Watcher plug!) and the silver screen.  That's not just great news for us fans, but great news for potentially expanding the joy of comics.
Hopefully, as Marvel continues to expand into new media, more and more people will realize why so many of us make that Wednesday pilgrimage to our local comic book store--where it all started!"

This week's Tricerastack (fun fact about the on-sale dates--they changed while we were producing this episode!):
DAKEN: DARK WOLVERINE #4
SPIDER-GIRL #2
SUPER HERO SQUAD #12

More stuff from this week's episode:
The Avengers vs. Pet Avengers
Mutant Vampires
Create Your Own Superhero

Vote in this episode's Graphic Debate poll--Spider-Man vs. Wolverine.
